Welcome to the humble blog for Idiots, its almost like Web 2.1 for Dummies. EXCEPT its more blunt and half as much sodium.
I own various web-sites here and there and I'll be bloging about the extraneous task of making them from not-so-great to fantastic (in 3 easy years.) Enjoy!

Outsourcing to India or anywhere else may Hurt you!
- The first issue is communication. I worked with a company from india who designed the EGT worlds.com layout and style. We had severeal issues with communication. I could call the company because of the time zones, I couldn't understand the companies intention through IM's.
- If you ever wish to trust the company please provide a guideline or a general understanding of the project. I had a agreement which we agreed to, but at times the company would bill me for stuff I never wanted, or extra stuff I never asked for.
- Lastly, be sure to come up with a due date or the allowed time to end a project. Otherwise it may take longer than expected and you may find yourself lossing time and money.

I found it a piece of cake tbh, i use getafreelancer some times to do the bits that i can't and have never had an issue.
it's helps to go through a third party system like gaf as they set up all the contacts, etc and hold the payment in escrow until the work is completed. you set the tasks and the schedule. i think, as you mention, you just need to be prepared and use the right tools to help you achieve your goals. it isn't as scary as you first make out |

That's inevitable. I honestly understand your point as I used to encounter that kind of statements but you can never generalized all outsourcing firms. If you could read the blog I wrote and posted in here, I tackled that there are underdogs in the industry that destroys the good names of others. Hence, you have to be aware of that. Nonetheless, outsourcing should not be seen in an ugly perspective.
Thus, when they say, in outsourcing you always get what you pay for! Could be but you could always find someone that could provide you the service you're looking for. Just be careful next time. There are ways to know who you are working with. |

Having worked on several global brands I have had to deal with Indian companies many times and not once has it been easy or beneficial. From my experience they take longer and eventually cost more to get the same amount of work done. I think out sourcing is bad and you really won't find better talent outside of the US than within.
