ATTENTION: Work on the newest open directory/ search engine/ social network hybrid has begun.Any Questions?
This is the only blog where low-calcium is ok!
Welcome to the humble blog for Idiots, its almost like Web 2.1 for Dummies. EXCEPT its more blunt and half as much sodium.
I own various web-sites here and there and I'll be bloging about the extraneous task of making them from not-so-great to fantastic (in 3 easy years.) Enjoy!
Social Bookmarking Sites and its affect on SEO

There are over 1 trillion websites and web pages in the world (according to Google's latest index), but a mere fraction of these pages are available to users because of the lack of accessibility. For instance, if it wasn't for a few searches on Google you would not have found this very article or page and chances are you wouldn't manually type this file's location into your browser. If you did, Wow you are a very accomplished users. Congrats.
For the rest of us not-so-accomplished users we are stuck with the conventional means of finding something. Searching for the article we want from one of our favorite bookmarking sites or search engines. Otherwise your article mind as well collect virtual dust.
Digg.com, Reddit.com, and EGTworlds.com are just a few of the sites out there that were designed with the purpose of making great sites visible to a whole new community of people. Since Digg first attracted users it has been the primary source for the latest and greatest news articles, computer and technology articles, funny snippets, and other miscellaneous information for hundreds of thousands of users everywhere. If that wasn't enough to get your attention then hear this, over thousands of pages viewed this year will come from third party social sites, like digg and redit.com. Just ask digg.com, they'll tell you how happy they are that they're in the business.
The importance of getting your content on some of these newer sights are unparalleled compared to any SEO Tactic available, that is if you want your site to exceed the occasional 10 hits. It's a proven fact that once you right something good and stick it on these sites and with a little luck you could look forward to a whole need user stream.
These sites may have not been available to us until recently, but this fact remains: Each time someone votes on your site, or adds your site to a social directory you are receiving valued back licking and new user streams that have the potential to get your site recognized by hundreds of search engines and thousands of potential visitors. For the record I'd like to state that this is not a perfect tactic, it's not going to flood your server doors with new users, you have to make sure your website will keep your users and not just let them go back into the collective we call the internet. Enjoy, and if you like what you see, consider adding your site to some of these social bookmarking and social search engine sites out there like, http://egtworlds.com, http://digg.com, http://fave.com, and http://reddit.com.

Well even tho Google is not a social linking website, Google is directly affected by the number of submitted links on social link websites. So ya, you probably found WF because of backlinking and social linking.
