BBC news upgraded !!
Well the BBC have updated the news section.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/
I didn't like the old style left aligned version, but this version, to me, looks great.
However, looking through the code, it would seem that they have reverted back to tables for the main content layout, which for me is a step backwards.
Lets hope that this is an interim update and the tables will be gone soon.
What do you think?

[speechless]
What an improvement! In fact, just checked the BBC homepage (which I have not done in a while) and it seems that's had a makeover too - when was the switchover? And wait for it ... it's VALID HTML!!! |

The BBC homepage was done some time back, some fancy ajax stuff that lets you set up your own homepage al la igoogle but with a rocket booster and go faster stipes.
(try the drag and drop re-arrange feature - its really cool) The BBC news section was upgraded this morning, and has been rolling out over the other news sections all day. The bbc homepage validates, but the News section doesn't as yet... |

The clock in the top right is unique. First time i've seen a clock on a website that looks like that. |

I can accept tables for certain things - but the BBC have NESTED tables!
Otherwise, the site is an improvement on the previous one. |
