MS to Yahoo - "Accept or else"...
Microsoft have given Yahoo until April the 26th to accept its bid offer or it will go ahead and buy them out on the open market, at a significantly lower price.
Have MS gone mad? This is just pure bully boy tactics.
What are your thoughts?

Surely Microsoft are slowly loosing it. Usually a company would forget about buying another after a rejected bid. Looks like that Microsoft wants to buy everyone out.

MS needs Yahoo!, Yahoo! does not need MS. MS is trying to prevent one of two things.
1. Google obtaining Yahoo! 2. Apple or other obtaining them Basically the only way MS can compete with Google is if they had Yahoo!, its resources and its user base as MS as we all know has a very hard time innovating or creating anything that is truley revolutionary or impressive. Not to mention the Apple/Google relationship threatens MS internet line up as well. Their "bully" approach is not the way to win the shareholders hearts and I commend Yahoo! for telling them to bugger off. Now if Google gets Yahoo! that will be very interesting as with the two combined there will be a whole new world of web development and such. |

If Google bought Yahoo!, I wonder what trick(s) MS would think of to threaten everyone with...

Be careful what you pray for - it may come true!
The absolutely worst thing that can happen, from a consumer standpoint, is Google buying Yahoo. That would give Google power similar to MS. And we all know what power does. Personally I think that Google is too powerful already (well I remember the world BG (before Google) and Google as a young upstart) |
