Getting sucked in by google

Well I spent a few days transferring the private staff wiki over from our own to google's sites. I'm amazed at how much google are offering. They are definitely trying to provide something useful, unlike a lot of the advertising-based companies.

I just thought I'd give it a try, because we have problems finding someone to look after the scripts (sorry, web apps!) so when something breaks I have to spend ages fixing it and often re-installing, whereas someone who knows what they're...

BBEdit - easy hand-coding

I know I was intending to write about the making of the Morocco website, but I've been using a Mac (there are probably windows equivalents) text editor called BBEdit and it's amazing, so I want to write a few observations about it here.

Being quite a lazy type, I want to be able to update or change my pages with the least possible work, but I didn't want to lose the control you have with hand-coding. Style sheets obviously help a lot with that, but BBEdit does 'includes', which are...

This looks easy so I'll give it a try. It's all good practice, even if no-one reads it!

Last March a couple of us from Tribal Networks, a charity with the aim of providing decent internet access to tribal people in remote areas, went to Morocco to visit a village in the Atlas Mountains.
