I have an expand/collapse menu that I have a simple bit of javascript to make it work. But for some reason it won't work with the list items wrapped in <ul> tags. If I remove the <ul> and </ul> then it works perfectly. Any ideas why?

The problem is that I have to put it into a Content Management System and this automatically puts the <ul> tags in over-riding my code.

Is there a sure-fire way to force Hebrew letters
to display correctly?

In development I'm doing, some of the screen
needs to ensure such proper display.
But I get inconsistent results.

Foe example, when I open a pop-up window
in js, even though I write out the charset attribute
utf-8 in the meta tag - the letters still appear
incorrectly.

Hi all - back and finally getting my teeth into web design after stops and starts.

Here I combine the coda-slider with transparency, which works fine in all major browsers bar IE6 online - BUT fine in IE6 locally off my hard drive! I check permissions on remote files and they look ok?????

I'm no Java person and just tweak parameters and paths.

Hello all - This seems like a rather active forum so hopefully I can get some help. I am trying to put a hover ad on my website. I do not know how to code DHTML or Java so I used an online wizard to create the ad I just inserted the HTML for the look of it. I am having two issues:

1. My ad shows up behind the rest of the page contents. I tried putting the hover ad inside a div with a z-index higher than the other contents but that did not work. Here is the page I'm testing it on (duplicate of the home page) http://www.yourstarrstuddedevents.com/test.html Also to try and troubleshoot I put the ad on an old page that uses tables instead of CSS and it shows up just fine http://www.yourstarrstuddedevents.com/old.html so I assume it has something to do with the CSS but I can't figure out what.
2. In firefox the ad just appears in the upper left corner and does not scroll in in the correct position. This issue isn't major but I thought I'd include it in case someone has an answer.

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated, I recognize I'm trying to do something that is beyond my skill level. Thanks!

I created an array, whose entries looks like this:

[41, "The bird flew into it's cage"]
[33, "He drew fire from Joe"]
[33, "Roger asked her her name"]
[2, "I am awfully happy"].

I want to pull the sentence item
out of some array entries.
E.g., in the second entry,
namely, arrayName[1],
what I thought was the
second item (the sentence),
I could manage by invoking
arrayName[1][1].

But to my dismay,
this doesn't do the trick.
arrayName[1][1] actually delivers up
the second CHARACTER of the
entry (the number "3").

I thought the comma between
the number and the sentence would
separate the items, although I
"pushed" each entry into the array
as one single entry.

How do I "grab" the whole sentence?
How do I push both items separately
to achieve "one entry"?

I'm designing a portfolio for myself that uses some JS techniques I've learned. Unfortunately I didn't make it very far before running into a problem I couldn't solve; using JS to create a menu bar with "animated" buttons.
