Layering and buttons in Flash

Hi,
Basically on my flash movie there is a series of buttons or hot spots that when clicked open up another movie clip above with some details. The problem is that you can still click the buttons on the movie underneath when the pop up is activated.

Is there any way to disable this from happening. I had tried including a solid button/graphic under the pop up that fills the stage but you can still select the buttons underneath?

Thanks,

Re: Layering and buttons in Flash

You can use 'enabled' method and give it false value when your movieclip is loaded, then your button wont work...
