I've found something interesting for web design
Have your ever heard before about Whipie?. I'm testing It and I like it. It's a simple way of page making and hosting and free!!!!!. I got my page in few minutes.
Have a look:
www.whipie.com
Do you know how to make links with this system?
P.S: I've to ask them about uploading PDF's and something like that.

Re: I've found something interesting for web design
I've seen freewebs but it seems to me another template web page based system. There are millions of them. The page looks nice but the result is poor

I'm curious to see what kind of code Whipie generates.

Re: I've found something interesting for web design
The code doesnt look impressive to me at all ! it's cluttered, badly formated and in some cases very long lines which seem to go forever to the right of my monitor !

Yeh, hand coding will not only give you a lot of valuable expirience, it will also give you a greater understanding of your site and what to do when things go wrong, and it will also give you better and smaller code

Re: I've found something interesting for web design
There wasn't even a doc type on any of those examples.
Thanks for sharing something new though!

Re: I've found something interesting for web design
I think the concept that this introduces based on a X,Y position system... is very interesting. HTML is a text based language and this shows a new graph specification language from a subset of HTML. I think their intention is not to generate a well formed HTML but showing a new concept that goes beyond HTML. Surely the future goes in this direction.

Gee, an XY positioning system? That's, like, super-advanced. We should invent a name for it. Hmmm...
How about "cartesian coordinates"?
Grid-based layouts are nothing new.
