Re: Maniac Studios(updated)
I like your new design a lot more. Much better colours in my opinion, and that background image on the content's great.
A few things to say though...
I'd make the designer thinner. You seem to have far to much empty space between your content and side navigation.
The logo at the bottom is a bit pixelated. Maybe you should clear that up a bit.
The border under your links could be a bit darker when hovered over. But that's just my opinion. Another opinion is that the design should be centred on the page. (#body {margin: 0 auto;}) It's kinda hanging to the left at the moment.
And you should note that your failing accessibility validation on your portfolio page. That's 'cause you don't have alt="" text.
Also on an SEO note you seem to have more than one H1 tag per page. You should only ever have one, your site title. Use H2 or 3 for the rest.
Blake.

Re: Maniac Studios(updated)
thank you, ill see if i could fix that. so i think the reason its not centered on yours is because of the screen resolution, right? i have the #body tag centered using absolute positing, so do i get rid of that and add the margin thing or do i keep the absolute and just add the margin, could iget a screen shot of what it looks likes on your computer?
PS: does anyone know why iam getting the validation errors on my homepage?

Re: Maniac Studios(updated)
Wow huge improvement on the old one, still needs a lot of work in terms of making links from text, more content etc but I imagine this is just the design your talking about now?
I really like it, the only thing I would say is the dictionary definition, make it more obvious that thats what it is, maybe fiond the fonts that they use when people normally do this, because aty the moment it looks like random text in the header for no reason...

Re: Maniac Studios(updated)
yes I am using a 1152 x 864 not a 1024 x 768 resolution so it looks strange. Take out the absolute positioning and add "margin: 0 auto;"
For this to work in IE though you have to have "body{text-align: center;}" but I believe you already have that.

Re: Maniac Studios(updated)
ok, thank you. yea, i know it needs something, to ... i dont know, maybe make it jump out at you and want to stay at the site. what would u guys suggest?
and i tried the margin: 0 auto; thing and heres what happened. http://home.comcast.net/~motormaniac
i am using absolute positioning on almost all of my div tags and pretty much everything, is there a better way to get it exactly where i want it?

Re: Maniac Studios(updated)
You would probubly acheve this by making a containing div with a width of what you want and use floats for the two columns.. The containing div will be holding the site in place on whatever size screen... and the columns wont get outside it. As of yet, the site is all over the place.

Re: Maniac Studios(updated)
A lot of your images are really pixelated/low quality. I don't know if it is my machine, because nobody has spotted it yet it is really apparent. Also, your page is not centered. The way I do it, and it usually works for non dynamic sites, is to change <div id="body"> to <div id="body" align="center">.
Otherwise it's really cool.

Re: Maniac Studios(updated)
I couldn't be bothered to read everyone elses thoughts so i don't know if anyone has said,
but you have like two headers, in my opinion I reckon you should drop the one in the top right hand corner and stick with the one on the left.
Besides that, it's brilliant
