Keynote Systems
This website was just finished, and Keynote is totally impressed. Please tell me what you think, your comments and concerns. Take a look at some of the pages except the Quick Demo page. The quick demo page is a little bad, and has to be re-made.
So tell me what you think, I hope it validates.

Re: Keynote Systems
what isn't centered? The whole site is centered. What browser are you using?

Re: Keynote Systems
To tell you the truth, I have a flash-blocker on my firefox browser because I just hate flash-ads, and since your menu is in flash I need to unblock it every time I go into a different part of the site. I don't know if it's just me who is crazy enough to have that installed on the computer, but if there is a lot of people like that you might want to consider a non-flash menu.
I also prefer not to hear sound from webpages.
Other than that I like the colours and the rounded corners.
If you want your website to be valid 4.01 transitional you need to add ALT tags for your images.

Re: Keynote Systems
The urls aren't very good, index-1, index-3 ?
You should have something simple and more descriptive there.
And tables
Plus you should have text not just an image on your first page, it'll be the most indexed page for search engines, and as they can't use flash they can't access the other pages, this not only hinders search engines, but those with brail pads and/or screen readers.

Re: Keynote Systems
Why would you use a flash blocker?
Flash is an essential part of the web, even through there are flash ads, but most sites have some sort of flash thats not advertisement. I think the use of flash here is warranted as it helps Keynote "Sell" its product.
As far as the url's are concerned they are linked directly into the flash, because some one was lazy. I could try to re-wire the name of the pages but that would take a while.
The homepage could probably use some coding, so it looks like the image but has text. I'll see if that can happen.
For Google's sake I have the web master and submitted the site map. I should probably put a "if you don't have flash" content there, but I'm a bit lazy.
Keynote is also paying for advertisement on Google, so it really isn't a problem.

Most users who need that won't buy Keynote's software. I also think flash should be able to merge with those programs, seamlessly. Wonder why adobe has not looked at that.

Re: Keynote Systems
You can use a sly method for the flash links with transparent div overlays, that's how it's done on myspace because they disabled the get_url() function.
I do admit it is pretty

True... it's all about target audience, cater for them before anyone else...
I generally dislike flash though, mainly because i can't open things in new tabs.
And i've not heard any sounds on the website?

Re: Keynote Systems
To where ever the preivous post went, as long as it can work I'm good.
I'll look into modifing it, but as far as the white on white goes, that is being moved to a long description of the image.

yes,
google et all are unable to index flash: change the menu to a CSS based list, or at least place a CCS based list navigation underneath and overlay with the flash using swf object.
get rid of the tables: change the layout away from tables to CSS table-less. this makes the code to content ration smaller and as such easier and faster for search spiders to crawl.
update your page names to be keyword rich / content specific
other things:
there is a strange light grey bar on the right hand side, what is it for?
thank **** I can't hear any sound

Thats not totally accurate - Google was able to index the main flash page, it indexed the text of the shockwave object. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...&start=10&sa=N

A bit to time consuming, unless there is a pressing issue with the table layout, it stays until I get more time.

I just did that, I kept the normal page names so google doens't think I'm changing my urls to much, but I also created brand new pages with the same content only better page names. All pages have great titles and great meta tags.
