Re: Header logo thingy...
It is a interesting design, generally the sunset is quite good but the water and reflection dont quite look right. The text would stand-out better in white I think.

Re: Header logo thingy...
The Shadow may look more realistic if it was more diagonal from the main text..

Re: Header logo thingy...
The sunsets good but the reflection of the text should be a gradient, like on this logo: http://designbit.co.uk/wp-content/th...s/cubeleft.png
hope that helps.

Re: Header logo thingy...
Yes the water at sunset is more of a blue/black. That would be more realistic!

Re: Header logo thingy...
No! Water is colorless, it reflects whatever is around it! Making it blue would make it look horribly fake.

Re: Header logo thingy...
Okay - the background looks lovely stretched accross the top, great contrast with the black.
I think the writing really lets it down - at the moment it's difficult to read as the contrast lets it down on the l.h.s. and the text looks slightly pixelated (avoid at all costs in your heading - even if it results in slightly longer extra loading times as a last resort).
But I think the problems lie deeper than that... there really is something missing - I'd do a few different designs and see what else you could come up with?

Re: Header logo thingy...
Use photoshop to 'Skew' the reflected text so that it looks as if it's flowing across the water and not just straight
