One whole image w/ links

I've been looking for an answer for this one for a while.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to make one whole image but having links within that without having separate slices.

By the way, I'm making the image in PS and in Photoshop you can generate html, but you have to slice the links. I'm also pretty sure this has something to do with the coordinates of the page or the image, I'm just not sure how to generate it or do it.

You mean image maps? You can do this with Dreamweaver quite easily.

Yeah, those are image maps. They're rather outdated, though.

That's what I do when I need image maps. The map tags are horrid, though.

Using css to simulate image maps is a great approach really and one I have used before. It generally works out very well.
