Depends on the rest of the site and what you want to do with it but if your going for something subtle and more on the down-low, I love #1. If you gonig with something funky obviously #3 is a great choice as well.

Overall ... I like #1 best.

i was thinking about making it more 'child friendly' , as my site is parshly about childrens health, thanks for your answer

#1 is my favorite as an adult woman. #3 makes more sense for targeting kids.

#3 is too busy to my mind - maybe removing the rainbow colours on the writing would focus the users attention, and not overload it.

#2 would be much better with just the peppers and the background (i.e. no lady).

I like the overall design of #1 - perhaps not if you are targetting kid - if you were looking for a more sophisticed look, however, it's very nice. although, personally, I would replace the picture of food with something slightly more appetising with a less busy display (i.e. the plate is very decorative, and I'm struggling to understand the purpose of the gray cloth?).

I like #1 best, seems to be more professional...but if you are targeting kids...well you don't want to know what I am going to say...so nevermind...lol

yeh number 1 is the best having the woman in number two is bad she looks out of place! I know that part of your site is about chrildrens health but parents,are more likely to be looking at it (i havent seen to many chrildren taking an interest in their health!) so i think that number one is the most stylish and professional looking!

i will tell you where my thinking takes me

the 'childish' header was not there to entice kids to use the site, it was more of a 'sign' to show that the site is not the traditional 'recipes website' but a place where you can find advice to feed kids properly + a recipes site, blog, etc - I hate boring recipes sites and i thorght this might set me apart, making my site more interesting

i thorght that a sign like that would show the direction of the site

you would not build a website about ( for example ) a child minder, and put an adult header on there, you want to give an immediate impression of the site and its content

am i wrong ?

Thats fair enough, and i can see why you ght go for the more child orientated one but i still feel that the first 1 adds more sopistication to the site but they r both gd!

dont worry, the layout of that image is un-important, as all that shows is where it would be 'possible' to put a plugin,

#1 is my fav, #3 is my 2nd. How about adding a style switcher or a form so when logged in it displays the theme base don age or preference? Problem solved =P
