Web Site Sketch Up
I have a little business designing and developing websites. I've never really made a website for myself, but with a CMS I'm developing on the way, it seems like a good time.
So I was thinking about what I should do as a design, and I got a little idea. Why not just do a website which design is a doodle? So I took a little time, and sketched it up on my computer, and I've attached the results to this post.
I'm not looking for "Oh, the logo needs work" (Which it does), "I don't like the colors," and critique like that. I'm looking for whether or not it'll make a good website design once I touch it up. I think its rather original, and I like the colors. And don't worry, I will change the font.
PS: Home is an link, portfolio is a hover link, and web development is the active link
Edit: Ignore the attatchment. Didn't work. Go to http://mostmojo.com/webforumz/Sketch-up.gif

Re: Web Site Sketch Up
IMO, it's cute. haha, and people who are looking for someone to do business with won't want to see cute. Your website/portfolio is your first impression, in a sense. So with no critique, no it won't work for what it seems you want to use it for.

Re: Web Site Sketch Up
i think this would work very well as a children's site, obviously it doesn't look professional, but that is the desired affect.
I think kids would love the bright colours and cartooney graphics though

totally agree with this comment, if this was a kids site, say for a childminder or childrens toy store it woul dbe fantastic. as a site to promote your webdesign business - not so much

Re: Web Site Sketch Up
I like the design, but i think the font needs changing on the nav and header, does not go well with the rest of the site at all

Re: Web Site Sketch Up
i know, since this is just a sketch-up I didn't want to take the time to search for the perfect font. I'll worry about fonts when I start my rough draft.

Re: Web Site Sketch Up
To me, both are extremely simple designs that just don't hit the mark.
Simple most certainly doesn't mean not beautiful, but in this case, I'm not sure.
With designs this simple, it should be quite easy to get them right.

Re: Web Site Sketch Up
The first one is too childish for your web design business.
The second one is more appropriate, but it looks like a small-time corporate site from about 5 years ago.

Re: Web Site Sketch Up
Should I persue the second design and get better fonts and touch it up, Or should I start a whole new design all together?
