Web site building software
Hey,
I know most of you are web design masters; but does anyone know of a software that's more adaptable (and alot easier! ) for a designer. All this coding is not for me. I just want to choose what I want and click it into place. I checked out Microsoft Publisher. It has templates already made; but the colors and graphics were horable! Am I only dreaming of a perfect place, or does something like this really exist!! Help Me!!!

Re: Web site building software
I'm afraid you're only dreaming. You need to know a substantial amount of HTML and CSS to be able to understand modern management systems. If there was such a thing as "Perfect Websites for the Internet Idiot" us web designers would non-existent.

Re: Web site building software
ryans right - and also, you can only create a truely brilliant website when you understand the whole site's attributes and when you know it's code inside out. There is no quick and fast way to a good website.

Re: Web site building software
Front page is crap, just like Microsoft in general, I never could use it.
I'd like to thank Macromedia for the ability to create Dreamweaver, best piece of software I have ever used!

Re: Web site building software
Take a look at PHP Designer (2007) - i believe its free and although the name suggests it's just PHP its not. The software caters for all coding and if you want to learn code is an excelletn step in the right direction.
Hope that helps - Grant

Re: Web site building software
Is there something like/as good as PHP Designer for Linux?
I some times use Quanta+ in code view but I am looking for something a little more mature and useable

Re: Web site building software
Well, I am using sitekreator.com for building my sites - it doesn't require any coding on my part and the hosting is included. I love the new design that has been recently introduced - Aurora: http://sitekreator.com/aurorademo/index.html
I was using FrontPage just to get acquainted with HTML - and I find it really helpful for tutoring means only but frankly I wouldn't go with it for building my site.

Re: Web site building software
Your best bet is to get a decent text-editor for coding (there are plenty of good free ones) and get stuck into some html. It really is the best way, I mean it can be a bit frustrating but you'll get there in the end. It worked for me though I am still learning but then again, you never stop.
