What do I need to build an online game?
Ok well basically I am looking for someone who has experience, not in making a text based game. But in general has some idea on what they would use.
Therefore my question is if i was to create a text based multi-player game... a role playing game and to move into animation over the years or so. What would be best for me? a content management site or a mysql database.
Also if anyone has any experience with html + css and would be willing to work with me, I will pay cash but that will be over time but I will explain more privately. PM me for details

Back on topic. So yea I am basically asking would it be better to use a CMS or a general mysql if creating a text based mmorpg

Start by learning how to spell....!
What kind of a game are you thinking of? Whether you're planning on making an online "Text based" game or a site with a collection of games, you're better off using a server-side language and a database than trying to statically code everything.

ahh.
so you'd store their HP in a mySQL table and use queries to take away from it.
