A serachable site with log in

Hi Everyone

I am currently working on a website idea and could do with some advice. Having done the research I think it will be the onlysite around like it so I will be asking for help but without giving to much away. I hope this dosen't cause offence.

Ok so I need a site that allows the following:

Searchable
Allows people to signup and create a profile
Allows people to have a friends directory/address book
allows people to have certain items serachable and other left private

is this an expensive project?

Re: A serachable site with log in

I made a tutorial on a basic login system:

Unless by "is this an expensive project?", you meant for people to make it for you.

Re: A serachable site with log in

Searchable, not serachable....

I'd need a few more details to give an exact quote, but I think a project like this could be completed in 5 - 7 hours. Actually not that complex; just a bunch of database stuff. Add another 1 - 2 hours for front-end design and coding.
