Adding shopping carts

I'm a complete web newb.

I'm going to be hosting my website soon (transferring from Dreamweaver, using GoDaddy.com as host), but still need to integrate a shopping cart.

Anyone have any idea of how this is done - is it difficult? and where can I find a good + free shopping cart program? (I know of one that my friend's using, but I don't know if it's reliable)

Re: Adding shopping carts

It depends what type of functionality you are looking for. Are you only going to need a shopping cart and basket, or do you require a full system.

I build all applications in-house, so there are no outsourced products that I deal with so apologies if these two products aren't what you are looking for.

Now, I don't know what server-side script your running either so I'll provided both ASP.NET and PHP - both products are free.

PHP - http://www.prestashop.com/
ASP - http://dashcommerce.org/

Re: Adding shopping carts

Cool, thanks! I have nothing set up yet, so I'm probably going to need a full system.
