Using layers in CSS
Could anyone tell me what the advantages and disadvantages are to using layers in
CSS
? I want to have a
background graphic and to display text over it, so do i just put somehting like
.imgbackground
{
z-index = -1;
}
I have read that using layers is going out of "fashion" and that there are some cross-browser issues with it.

Re: Using layers in CSS
I have never heard of any cross browser issues.
However I have rarely used layers, and the only time I have used them is when doing some absolute postioning, and somethig was floating over top of something when I wanted it underneath.

Re: Using layers in CSS
I was just reading more about this early this week. Here is a link to the article I was reading. It might help.
