Meta tags should be on every page that you want them to have, and you are allowed to make them the same, but usually they are related to the page they belong to.

Good Luck!

Meta tags do not mean much to the bigger search engines now-a-days. Have a good unique title on each page, and good keywords throughout the body content and you'll be starting off well.

Re: Sorry Two More Newbie Questions

If your looking for meta tags to boost your search results, I would suggest you do some research over at seochat.com - they have some great tools to use. Regardless of what anyone might say, Meta tags are a bonus to have. They make not make the most difference, but its allways nice to have as many chips as possible if you know what i mean. One hint though, dont flood your keywords or descriptions, and allways add your bot txt files.

The best trick to seo is setting up good relevant content.
