Linking to external site without <iframe>
I have linked within an iframe...the problem is I can't get anything to display in front of the iframe. So I guess my question is can i create a scrolling div that links to an external site?? any help would be awsome!
Thanks Cory-

Re: Linking to external site without <iframe>
Ugh. You're trying to make someone else's site load inside yours? You'd better have a really good reason for doing this.
Bear in mind there are legal implications to this. You can't just "take" someone else's content and put it inside your "frame". That would count as reproducing their content on your site.

If what Mike is saying is true, then DON'T.
Otherwise, explain clearly what you're trying to do cause it doesn't make much sense to me.
Maybe post a link to the site too?

Re: Linking to external site without <iframe>
Yeah It's totally legal...this is a site for a yacht broker and they have arrangements with national listers and i'm just displaying some search criteria results in there website so it doesn't just take them to the national list website. I did manage to get my flash drop down nav bar to go in front of the iframe but now where the overlap(in firefox) none of the links are active including the scroll bar in the iframe. works fine in IE.
I have the iframe inside a div and the nav bar has a z-index of 1 and position relative.
what do you guys think of the subsequent problem?
Thanks cory-

Re: Linking to external site without <iframe>
I do believe that the Iframe is the best solution in this instance.
Maybe someone has a better idea?

Re: Linking to external site without <iframe>
Yeah the iframe works now but in IE where things overlap there cancelling each other out as far as the links and such...
 Thanks Cory-

Re: Linking to external site without <iframe>
Using a div with include is a huge security hole! Another problem is, that relative links of the page are messed up, as well as graphics, etc.

Re: Linking to external site without <iframe>
Just a note that the pages like to change in IE6. The banner isn't taking up the full width and the shadow...disappears.
