Errors in Tables, Need working CSS

The site I'm programming was designed more around Mozilla than IE and now I have a small error that is keeping me from creating a working css for the base template. In the sidebars on the left side of the screen, the Store List centers no problem in Firefox, but now I've checked out the site in IE again and getting the sidebars to center the text seems hopeless. If anyone could identify the problem, I can't wait to replace all the html with css, but I have no idea why the text won't center, also there are at least 2 or 3 <tr> <td> and <table> that don't have matching end-tags, and I can't find those yet.
