What you are being told is, at this point, you need more then assistance, you need somebody to either do the whole thing for you or spend who knows how much time training you. Nobody here is stupid enough to accidentaly get wrapped up in something so time consuming for free. The entire task at hand simply cannot be handled on a forum either.

You know, It never seems to amaze me just how shallow some people can be.

The last time I looked at the overall rules & regs of this forum, it specifically states that "THOU SHALT NOT FLAME"

I dare say that if I dangled a $$$ bill under your nose, --- you'd be the very 1st in line!

You know, dealing with this thread & this particular forum just isn't worth the agrivation!

Don't bet on it. Skwirrells have Scottish genes (McLevi's.)

Most of us are lovely.
One of us is even unreasonably cute and has the huge twitchy, bushy, tail to prove it.

Re: Building a WEB SITE

I didn't flame you pal... you clearly don't know what a real flame is. I'd be happy to help you out with that though.

I am not the one coming on here telling people I know jack doodoo and expect them to detail out for me how to start an online business. I was just clarifying why you are getting the responses that you are. You must also not be aware of how many people actually try and get web designers to do work for free.

You've been told that this process is not simple and you come back yourself flaming and telling people you just wanted some assistance. Well, how can anyone just assist somebody who knows absolutely nothing?

Just by you saying this shows how little you know. There is no "That's all there is to it" to your "All I want to do" situation.

"ALL I CAN SUGGEST" is reading a lot of "how to" html and css sites, and then go study paypals excellent tutorials and documentation.

If you want more then this, then your asking for more then assistance. I refer you back to my post with the description of ASSIST!

Re: Building a WEB SITE

Thank You! I have been in business for over 45 years. You say "I don't know."

Try to get around the customer that wants something for free because I now shoot DIGITAL for almost 8 years. If I ever heard an argument about "hey man, you are shooting digitally, it doesn't cost you ANYTHING now!"

All cameras have a lifespan before they start having problems. If I spend $1500 on a camera and I expect it to give me troublefree performance for, let's say, 10,000 shots, I don't care how you spell it, thats $.20 per shot. Good, bad, or otherwise! Then I havn't even got into the cost of the computers, the printers, nor the ink! Now we have to deal with "my" time and ALL the years of experience PRIOR to that timeframe. I went professional in 1960!

No one. ... and I mean no one! likes someone to bark at them. Your directives are exactly what I was looking for.

I don't expect anyone to do my work for me. I believe, that all I wanted was a place to start. Once I have some basics, I can gleen what I need.

In all honesty, I certainly did not intend to come on-line and start a pile of S*&^.

Please, accept my appologies if you were in any way offended.

I think he was trying to explain that he does know how people try to get work done for free. However, I think his example is quite different.

To make his example apply to this situation.....

A person asks him...

"I have absolutely NO experience with camera's and photography. However, I know what I want it to do.

I want to take professional photographs, frame them and have a store to sell them in.

I build & fly Remote Control aircraft. RCers CONSTANTLY want professional photographs of their planes in flight. I have set my merchants & suppliers for all the frames I want to carry and I have a massive emailing list covereing almost every registered RCer within the country.

Once my store is up & running the way I want it, I can START to do my weekly advertising.

Question) WHERE DO I START?"
I'm sure marwen will say he'll help the guy out for free, but that would just be his version on here to make himself look good. In reality, there is no way he's going to spend his valuable time training this guy completely from scratch for free. He'll point him toward some books and reading and tell him to come back when he's more educated on the basics.

i would start with a online prebuilt package and study web building and design while it worked. then create a more custom package when i could.

godaddy.com has good templates and prices.

Ha! Ha! LOL It's amazing how many people open mouth and speak > before they think!

Please DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT REPLYING to this feedback.. Because -- that's all it is!

As a hobby, I fly RC aircraft -- and I build them from scratch.

As a matter of fact, this site that I want to build is geared to that very industry.

If you have never flown an RC airplane --- don't try to do it by yourself! Guaranteed! you will be rebuilding your many, many hours of effort before you know it. ALWAYS have an instructor!

I have been a FREE instructor for those that need it, since 1988. In fact, for the past two years, I GIVE my free time to those that need it, as a moderator for another forum.

PLEASE, don't tell me , let alone the whole damn world, that I wouldn't do -- for FREE.. Don't ever say that unless YOU specifically know that person!

To be fair, you were asking about a commerce site with which to sell them.

Thats just it... Starting an E-commerce site yourself isn't "Basic" It's a very complicated business that web designers charge vast sums of money to implement. That's what's landed you in all this. Weather you meant it like this or not, your first post made it sound like you wanted professionals on here to hold your hand through the whole process... for nothing. Misunderstanding on your part... that's all.
