Customizing table rows

I have a table which holds details off companies that have supported a charity fund raising webiste I am making.

I am using alternate colours (pale yellow & white) so it makes it easier to read.

I don't have a border around the cells but would like a black line between each of the table rows.

Currently there is a 1px gap where the border would be. I don't know if i can have just a border at the bottom/top. But that leaves the 1px gap between cells on the row.

Is there a way i can chnage the colour of the gap so it gives the impression that the table row is all one colour and looks like one cell

Have a look at the site and you will see what i mean

Many thanks in advance

Re: Customizing table rows

You know, I thought this could have been done with CSS. Curiosity got the better of me and I experimented for you. I tried to use css for the <TR> tag to define a border-bottom that was 1 pixel and was black but it didn't work, so i'd like to know how this is done myself.
