Resizing an image using HTML
I have an image on my website that is quite large and I want to resize it so its smaller. I have the image on my site http://www.freewebs.com/powderhound11/ (as you can see it's quite large) and I'm wondering if there is anyway of resizing the image in the HTML code.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Resizing an image using HTML
There is but that is not the best way to handle it. If you have say a 1600x1200 image and resize it with HTML, people still have to download the 1600x1200 image file. best bet would to have a thumbnail version link to a full version.

Yes, but as moojoo said - the user still has to download the entire large image, so resizing this way only makes it fit better.

Re: Resizing an image using HTML
Using Photoshop, you can also optimise it when you save it (gives you a choice between jpg and gif formats).
There is no need for an image of that size to have such a high compression rate on the web as browsers won't display the highest resolutions anyway. Play around with the compression ratios and you will be able to save a lot there too. I would be expecting a file size of no more than 15Kbs for that area (hopefully much less) but you will see what works best as you play with it.

The lazy way usually inconveniences somebody else.
In this case, the visitor.

Re: Resizing an image using HTML
Look into the save for web tool in photoshop. Good compression with not much quality loss, I do all my image saving for my website with that.
