Hi everyone. I have been a member of Webforumz for a while, but I haven't noticed this category here before. So "hi."

I am coming from a design background, but I find writing code for the web to be fascinating. I am currently a beginner level javascript developer and I have my first REAL CLIENT! As such, I decided to come back around and do some learnin' up. I'm currently having a problem with local vs. global variables in my JS. Is it always a big deal if you create a global var from inside a function? I understand that it can slow down execution of your code...
