Smile Bizarre Situation also kind of hilarious...Using a variable for an image.

Hi,
Here are the circumstances:

So, I have about 7 years in 3D graphics design and I applyed for a job at a company. I got hired for a completely un-related job that I was applying for which would involve making their company webpage look "nice".

The problem: (there are several)

The head of IT (the only IT guy) can barely speak english.

The owner of the company (who hired me) is semi-retired and has not even shown up this week or half of last week (the week I started). He is completely computer illiterate, like he said "I don't even know how to cut and paste."

Everyone else at the company likes the way I have laid things out visually(and hated the way the IT guy built the website). But, the IT guy doesn't like the way I put the website together... from a coding perspective.. I can barely understand what he's talking about(the owner of the company said the same thing in my interview, which lasted about 10 minutes).

Okay, now what I have to accomplish...

Make the code for the images a variable... would this involve java?

He wanted all the content positioned directly dead center in the webpage, which I did, using someone elses html code.

Check out the website, at www.meshwall.com he built it and its terrible.

I don't know where to go from here, but if someone could help me with "making images a variable".

Could someone give me some advice? Should I just quit?

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Bizarre Situation also kind of hilarious...Using a variable for an image.

Well making an image a variable is more of a coding issue. There are many different ways you can do this, it all depends on what language you are using to code the site. The most simple way is to create an array and put the image names in the array. They you can call for the image by the array name.

Here is an example of how you can use an array to call for images with JavaScript.

BTW, the link you posted isn't working.
