Creating a PHP web gallery - automatic thumbnails

Hi all,

I am looking to create a web gallery, with the view for it to generate automatic thumbnails. The main reason for attempting to create a gallery with using PHP is that I am looking to sell wedding cards, so the website (and images) is being updated on a daily basis. I have got a template of how I would like the site to look (see attachment). I know that I am asking two questions in one - first is creating a PHP or any other type of gallery, which potentially can generate thumbnails and the other is adding a box where it will display the thumbnail and associated information (see attachment 1). I am looking to create something similar to:
http://www.myshadicards.com/weddingcards.asp?id=11
I like the way that the images are laid out and would like something similar. One final thing is I am looking to incorporate a search box (where people can search by colour, price, images etc), I have seen some sites use 'tags' and 'keywords' but after doing some browsing in Google, was unable to find any helpful documentation. Can anyone help please?

Thanks,

Everything you have suggested can be done using PHP. You will need a MySQL database to store all the information in.

tags are generally Wordpress related and that could be a good way to go if PHP is too complicated for you?

As Danger stated, this can all be done using PHP. You can even resize the images on the "fly" with PHP. Thus allowing you to create linkable thumbnails to larger images if you would like.
