A colleague turned me on to the Poodle service. It claims to display webpages as Google sees them so web managers can optimize and look for problems with their code. I have used this with some success on other sites however I noticed this week that poodle was having issues with one of my sites (
www.HGPshop.com). After some experimenting I discovered that links that contained variables separated with the name entity for the & ( amp; ) were causing Poodle to skip to the next element. So any <p> that had links to my database with the named entity were disappearing! This means half of my site was invisible. I was able to replace the named entity with the number entity ( #38; ). My question is 1) has anyone used Poodle here 2) do you think this entity issue is a Poodle issue or actual how Google sees pages?
