DMOZ no longer showing in back links?

Good Afternoon,

Our site, www.qualitytoolsltd.co.uk, has been listed in dmoz for a little while now, and was previously listed in our google backlinks - however when I check our Google backlinks it no longer shows up. I believe its still on Yahoo's backlinks but not with Google, does anyone know why this might be?

thank you in advance.

Dean

Re: DMOZ no longer showing in back links?

Google has been doing some strange stuff with backlinks over the last several months.....

Webforumz has seen a huge drop in backlinks although they all physically still exist.

I think google will only show you a selection of backlinks.... perhaps ones over a certain PR.

Link:domain has been extremely buggy and unreliable on google for ages -I always use yahoo for backlink checking as it's well known to be far far more accurate.

Re: DMOZ no longer showing in back links?

Thanks again Rob, yeah it is a mystery to me and I also use Yahoo more than google's, however I was curious because I used to have our DMOZ link shown and now it is not, but other competitors of mine still have theirs shown in their backlinks....

Also, on another note, I noticed that www.webforumz.com's backlinks have a high proportion of links showing from webforumz.com itself - is there any particular method or cultivation that caused these to appear in your google backlinks, or is it a coincidence? and are they worth anything? Sorry for the amount of questions, it's something I'm vary curious about.

Thanks again Rob

Re: DMOZ no longer showing in back links?

When it comes to google and link:domain, who knows. If you try and formulate or guess a set of rules it's following then I can most likely show you a dozen or so sites that break those rules.

I would ignore google as far as link:domain goes.

Re: DMOZ no longer showing in back links?

It is strange that many people look at a SEO as a technique and algorithm, not as a model that follows user's preferences. Do you guys know someone who goes to DMOZ to search?
