What's your caffeinated poison?
I'm in a bit of a tricky situation at the moment... I have an exam at 9am tomorrow, and a prototype demonstration at 2pm. I've revised half the material for the exam and I have to read a CSV file to a DB through a JSP and servlet as well as cleaning up a lot of code for the prototype. I estimate it's all going to take me about 8 hours... unfortunately in my time zone it's now quater past midnight. Oh, and I've had about 12 hours sleep in the last 3/4 days...
Bring on the Caffeine!!!
Currently I've had two cans of Irn-bru and am going to start drinking coffee now. What do you guys do to perk yourselves up for an enjoyable night of coding?

Chocolate relaxes me, it doesn't wake me up - although the box of after-eights in my cupboards is calling to me...

Re: What's your caffeinated poison?
Caffeine doesn't really effect me unless I have it in large quantities (e.g. 4 or 5 energy drinks in a row). I love iced tea, though. I really don't like soda, and I've not been having coffee much for the past few months because I used to have 3-4 Venti Starbucks Americanos a day.

Lol, that'll be why caffeine doesn't work for you then!
I don't think I could rely on my natural perkiness to get me through a night of coding...

Re: What's your caffeinated poison?
Haha, I get insomnia when I code. I'm glad I don't code very much, but when I get into projects, I'll stay up for 36 hours without caffeine.

Re: What's your caffeinated poison?
I know. I haven't done that for a couple of months, though. I usually stick to XHTML/ CSS, but I've got this cool PHP web app I'm building. It's a major project, and I can't stand to work on it longer than a week or so.

Re: What's your caffeinated poison?
I'm beginning to forget...
I haven't managed to get any of my prototype worked on... but I did finish all the revision for my exam, taking place in 2 hours! Of course, there won't be a chance to sleep before it! Oh well - as long as the black dots don't interfere too much, I'm sure I'll be fine!
I'm going to use the 3ish hours between the exam and my presentation to make a quick fix on my program (I hope), so that it kinda looks like it's doing what I told everyone it would...
And I only had one cup of coffee in the end (on top of the irn-brus) so I'm feeling quite proud of myself!

Re: What's your caffeinated poison?
I drink 3 or 4 cups of coffee in the morning, plus several during the day, and if I'm working late, I'll have one every hour....
And trust me, caffeine is bad!!!

Re: What's your caffeinated poison?
The worst is when you get headaches if you don't get enough caffeine...

Re: What's your caffeinated poison?
Yeah... I got horribly painful headaches for a couple of days after I went cold turkey on the Americano's.
