The difference

A stupid question but one that I have been asked and did not have suitable (convincing) reply to.
What is the difference between -
Discussion Boards, Portals/CMS, Wiki, Blogs.

Re: The difference

Discussion Boards - A forum, Like the one you're on
Portals - A personalized website that provides links to other content
CMS - Content Management System, so that non-literate computer people can update the content of their own sites without going into the code.
Wiki - A shared resource where all members of it can submit and edit entries to build up a knowledge base.
Blog - 'web log' basically it's like an online journal/diary, where folks can usually leave comments...

In the world according to Snow, anyway.

Actually, that is a nice feature to use on your own personal website. As once you get everything working and everything validates, I find it is best if you just stay out of the code. So it is not necessarily just for people that are non-literate to the world of coding...lol
