Re: Lets be friends
Very sweet. I am a cat lover too, but I'm considering finding another home for mine at the moment because she's got fleas that we can't get rid of and my poor daughter keeps getting bitten and she reacts badly to the bites - her legs look like she's got some hideous disease! We've tried everything, don't know what to do, don't want to get rid of the cat

Re: Lets be friends
Try a flea comb and Frontline, quite expensive but it works.

Re: Lets be friends
Ok, thanks, I've tried the flea comb, but not Frontline, we've been using Johnsons. It's more getting them out of the carpet that's the problem, we read somewhere, and a couple of people suggested that you should put salt all over your carpets and leave it for 10 days without vacuuming because that dehydrates the flea eggs, so we did that, and put up with 10 days of unvacuumed carpets (which with 2 children isn't fun!), plus had to deal with salt getting everywhere (in our shoes, our bed etc), and it didn't work! I know we can fumigate the place, but I don't trust that that is completely safe for the children (despite what the company's say), plus we have a fish tank and I know it's bad for them.
Grrrr!

Re: Lets be friends
Vanessa, you're are going to have to bomb the house. No I'm serious. a Flea bomb. It's a can and it sprays flea killer in a light mist in the room/rooms that have fleas. You leave for two hours and it kills them all.

Yeah, that's really what I was referring to with fumigating - there are some reports that say it can be harmful to humans, especially children, and it kills fish. I guess we might have to do that though and go away for a few days till it's really cleared (and send the fish somewhere!).

Yes, not feasible at the moment cash-wise though!

Re: Lets be friends
you can get the carpets professionally treated - costs more than fumigating but is safer.
