Re: england is getting worse !!!
**** sorry mate. that sounds awful. my mums a nurse to shes always complaining about the drug users time wasters.
Anyway all I can suggest is that she can press charges against the girl. I know its not gonna help her situation atm but its soimething she might wanna think about in the future?

Re: england is getting worse !!!
It's not an easy situation, but your mother does have rights in law. The girl is culpable if she knew what she was doing was wrong, so your mother could press charges. She'd have a damned good case.
Secondly, she should seek support from her employer, particularly if there is a counselling option (and there ought to be).
Thirdly, does she have union representation? Are her employers squeaky clean in looking after their employees' welfare?
The choice is often difficult, as some may suggest just accepting it as part of the job and not make a fuss; others, push the limits. Problem is, sit back and do nothing, and the scrote gets away with it, the employer thinks there's no real problem, and work-related stress starts destroying lives.
I know what I'd do - and have done.

@ matelot: Probubly not... After all its the NHS your talking about and that is run by the goverment! Although the goverment should soon be getting better as there is a scotsman in charge.
@ Bruno: Sorry to hear about this, hopefully your mum gets well soon.

Re: england is getting worse !!!
My deepest sympathies. I wish your mother all the best in her recovery.
Try not to be too bitter about this, Bruno. I understand its upsetting to see the ones we love hurt but it is just a blip, an obstacle to be overcome. There is light at the end of the tunnel, as they say, though it may not feel like it now.
Pete.

Re: england is getting worse !!!
I know this isn't much help, but in the US, attacking a nurse with a scalpel is attempted murder and punished by time in jail. Your mother had every right to protect herself..irregardless of any stupid and dangerous rules. And there isn't a court in the US or England that wouldn't agree with that.

Re: england is getting worse !!!
That it really upsetting.
My mother was attacked a few months ago, she's over it now but she was shaken up for about a week. If I was in that situation I would definitely press charges. Hope she's okay

You moved to France? Just wondered from your location
Sorry to hear what happened to Bruno's Mum and best wishes to her. I hope that she gets over the trauma quickly and that she isn't off work too long.
Thinking of France, my g/f is currently pregnant and has dual nationality in France, and although she's primarily being "looked after" here by the NHS, she went to France for a few days to see doctors there because of the better way that they treat a particular concern that we had, and it seems that they treat mums to be much better in general. We've also had problem here with a midwife refusing to book a scan that a doctor said was required immediately, and that we only managed to get when another midwife seen for something unrelated also said that it was urgent. Who knows why the midwife she refused to book it, but cutting costs springs to mind.
There are places worse than England, but things could definitely be better.
