Artists I need your help...

Hi all,

I have a university project I have to do next year - I need to create a portfolio of an up and coming artists art in Flash.

Trouble is I don't know anyone arty.

If anyone out there has a passion for art and would be willing to let me use their artwork to create the portfolio - and possibly answer a few questions here and there regarding the project it would be much appreciated.

There is no cost involved. The only thing I would need from you is good resolution, decent digital photo's of around 30 pieces of your art. Now obviously I would need you to take your own time to take these pictures. They could either be sent CD, or I could mail you a 256mb memory card that you could upload them to, or we could possibly do it online.

At the end of the project if you like what I have done you can have it and use it as your digital portfolio free of charge. I will hand all rights to the work over to you in return for your help.

Our tutor told us that probably isn't the best way to go about it, a lot of deviant art is digital art - which we are preffered not to use.

Well he doesn't know what he's talking about then. Some of the best traditional artists I've ever come across are on DA.

True, I learnt a lot more going on that in art classes than spending four weeks on some project

and I'm sure someone on there would love to be promoted slightly.
Do they have some form of bulletins on there?

I'm sure you could get in touch with admin to post something. They are a pretty friendly bunch and very community led. I'm sure you'd get some traditional artists if you asked for that specifically though I don't quite understand the prejudice against digital art.

If I were you, Mike, I'd go and do a site for a blacksmith and then get your tutor to prove categorically that a blacksmith is not an artist. But then again, I'm a ****.

haha! Yea I would...but I don't wanna risk losing marks!

im an old fashioned illustrator. im learning to b a flash designer atm. u can use some of my illustrations but i dunno if they r arty enough. I made pen drawings and used water color..
