Single Colored Themes

Hi,

When I design a site, i usually have 1 color for the background, then a section where all the content goes, clearly distinguishable by the color.

I was wondering, do you prefer designing/programming sites that are fully 1 color, or do you prefer making it look as if it's structured.

Im not sure if you understand, but il give you an example of each:

southeastghosttours.co.uk
That is a single colored them.

Or arcadexl.com
which is more structured 'looking'

Or does it depend on the theme of the site?

(Hope you understood that!)

Re: Single Colored Themes

I think it depends on whom you are designing for. Some clients like the idea of 1 color or group of colors defining the entire site. Others prefer many colors. It ultimately will depend on what the client wants or likes. But remember your input is still necessary because you are the professional.

Re: Single Colored Themes

Sites with one colour are becoming very popular among designer portfolios. Just check out CSS Mania and you will see what I mean.

I like both one coloured layouts and "structured" layouts. It depends on what the client wants, though.

Re: Single Colored Themes

I come from a designing firm, but based on what i see to those designers making themes, they don't just use single color but a couple or three. just to make the theme creative and not plainly single colored. well, i think it's good.
