TV help?

I just got a 50" inch HDTV with surround sound and everything completely maxed out! The surround connects to the DVD player, and it plays great with DVDs. but can anyone tell me how I can get everything to play through the surround sound (such as sky + ) Thanks, I appreciate it!

Re: TV help?

On the back of the Sky box there are 2 phono jacks. Connect them to you surround sound and your Sky will play.
If that is not an option connect the TV through the phono sockets to the Surround. If you do it that way what ever comes through the TV will go through the surround sound. Option 1 is the best for sound quality.
Remember to switch off the TV sound though so you just have the surround sound playing and not both

Re: TV help?

I used to use a scart socket at one end with phono plugs on the other end when I used to connect my TV/Sky box to my hi-fi

Re: TV help?

Yes....I used to find it really annoying when i used to play dvds, that I had to turn the TV up full blast just to be able to hear it, so i connected it to my stereo and turned that on if I wanted more volume and the effect of surround sound

I'm the same, I don't even have the sound on at all through the tv, it all comes through my stereo.

Re: TV help?

Yes you can do the sound via a scart to phono connection, although it's not the right way to do it, they are designed to hook up the Video camera to the VCR, DVD Rec to put on Tape/Disc.

Alex still waiting on model so I can expand my help to you or are you sorted?
