Re: FireFox <3
How fast is your connection? What's the spec of your computer? What are you using to measure 'speed'?

Re: FireFox <3
fasterfox works by reading ahead when you visit a site.
Visit a blog and sit there and read the front page....
By the time you are done, fasterfox would have cached many of the other pages so when you click around the site it loads quicker.
BTW.... do not use webforumz.com as a benchmark. To protect our bandwidth, we have blocked fasterfox from doing this on our site.

Re: FireFox <3
So then rob is this a nice way of saying untick the option or else hehe. how would it use more bandwidth? i dont understand, would it make much difference to the speed if that option was kept ticked?

Re: FireFox <3
stormraven.... surely you are aware that every time you load a webpage it costs the webmaster some bandwidth (to transfer the data). Therefore, if your little fasterfox is loading lots of webpages into it's cache (webpages you'll prolly not ever see) then you are just leeching bandwidth.... most of it for no reason.
Fasterfox is evil and the software developers have obviously lost all sight of their morals. Including a way to block fasterfox in your robots.txt was a public show of devotion to helping both users, and webmasters (who wanted to opt out of this).... They then go and shoot themselves in the foot and backtrack from their moral beginnings with a damn override option..... shame on them.
Can we now have another robots.txt option to block the over-ride option? This is damn stupid..... how would webmasters feel if other robots ignored robots.txt (googlebot for instance).... I tell you there would be hell on.
Fasterfox started so well...... and then plummeted in just about every webmasters estimation as soon as they provided the over-ride..... hardly sensible really was it guys. Oh well....
