Firewall Question and Computer Security Questions
I was just wondering what you think is the best firewall to use. I'm currently using COMODO because I was having problems with installing ZoneAlarm.
I like ZoneAlarm, and one day when I turned my computer on I had a message saying that AVG had found security threats on my computer, and all of them pointed to ZoneAlarm, there was a button to egnore and to remove, so I clicked egnore and then nothing happened, it still kept flagging them up, so then I pressed remove and then my computer crashed. After re-starting the computer ZoneAlarm stopped working so I uninstalled ZoneAlarm and then tryed to re-install it.
Everytime I go to re-install it, I get this:

Has anyone seen this before? I mean which radio button do I use? I download it onto a flash drive, put it onto my computer and then its asking me to 'download and install' or 'download only' and im thinking.. hang on a min I have already downloaded it :P

It's so annnoying the way that ZoneAlarm gets installed on your computer. Loads of people are saying different kinds of firewalls that i have never even heard of

Re: Firewall Question and Computer Security Questions
Nod32 is the best in my opinion. It uses hardly any resources unlike other Anti-Virus programs and also doesnt give stupid false positives that most others do.
Eset NOD32 is the best!

Re: Firewall Question and Computer Security Questions
Its not all about system resources. But AVG has been awarded as one of the best anti viruses programs.

Re: Firewall Question and Computer Security Questions
To me and many others it is. If you choose AVG over Nod32 then you can say bye to a fast loading/performing system with AVG running in the background. Nod32 runs as if it isnt even there.
It may not be as bad as Norton etc but Nod beats em all

Re: Firewall Question and Computer Security Questions
If you've already downloaded it, make sure you are clicking the correct icon. You may just be clicking the downloader icon, and not the actual installation icon.
By the way, Zone Alarms is great.

Re: Firewall Question and Computer Security Questions
Well Marc, I downloaded it onto my flash drive and then put it on the desktop and then clicked it and said 'download and install' or just 'download only', that was by clicking the actual install button so god knows which one to press.

Re: Firewall Question and Computer Security Questions
Choose "Download Only" because this will give you the chance to check for any viruses with your current system. No matter what you are downloading, be it an image or a file, always download it to your desktop and check it first
AVG used to be fantastic but it all went south when they released V8 which completely screwed my system up. A friend recommended Esset and i've not looked back since.
You say that you don't care how much resources it takes but you soon will when your computer is unusable because all your resources are taken up by your virus software which is why most people seem to stay away from Macafee these days

Re: Firewall Question and Computer Security Questions
AVG is ok, but aparently ESET is better, and well.... Norton has gone down after their latest release:
