How best to host my site

I created a site for a mate a year ago- using streamline.net.
It is only 1 page- so i dont really wanna have to pay £40 a year for them to host it!

does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can get this cheaper!?

thanks

Re: How best to host my site

There are a few cheaper hosts. I recommend Dream-Hosting. Have used them for 4 months now, no problems at all. £10 for 1 year. Decent amount of space/features. http://www.dream-hosting.co.uk/

Re: How best to host my site

I've had a fair bit of experience with hosting and I've found cheap hosts really aren't worth anything atall really its worth it to go the extra £20 or so per year for a decent if I were you I'd go for the £22.99 copper plan on http://www.eukhost.com/ there the cheapest host I can trust anyway. If you have to go cheaper research it out on webhostingtalk website thats the best place hosting knowledge big forum community for hosting.

Re: How best to host my site

You can always hire a gerbil to run a webserver for ya, they are cheap and very quick. Google has said for years they are powered by gerbils...

On a serious note, make sure you call to setup your hosting account before you do it online. If they aren't willing to talk to you to get the best option for you then they aren't worth doing business with. I know you may not need advice as to whether to get the $1 package versus the $1,000 package, but this will let you see what kind of company you are dealing with.
