FFMpeg Modules. How much do they cost?

Hi.
Virtual private server provider HostV.com (http://hostv.com/virtual.shtml) I consider offer FFMpeg Modules for free with their VPS. Seems that is something video related and I wonder if that software cost something and how can it increase price of the VPS HostV provided.
Please let me know what you think about that.

I'm sure if you offered some form of integrated, out-of-the-box setup with your hosting, then it could increase it's overall appeal. But it is freely available, so it wouldn't increase the *value* per se.

modules implies plugin's which may not be free... and also there may be a charge for using the product commercially maybe or installation of the ffmpeg modules?

Can FFMpeg be installed on a shared account? Orc is it really better to go for a VPS deal like HostV.com offers it? I'm talking about a small you tube-like site.

I don't think it's possible on the shared account. As I know FFMpeg modules needs much resources. I guess it's possible on a dedi or VPS. Guess ServerPoint.com VPS will be O'k in this case. Rather cheap with many features.

Ffmpeg is available on vps plans, but it's better to inquire sales stuff whether they install it, if not you will need root access to do it yourself.
Serverpoint.com mentioned above may be one of the options, another one to check is Solidhost.com, they are running special deals now offering cpanel for free.

I don't think HostV.com provides FFMpeg modules for free. It's just included into their VPS plans. Double RAM is a helpful resource in this case as video services demand them much.

FFMpeg is free, so you can easily install it if you have ssh access to the shared plan, or you can do it on vps.

I didn't know that it's an open source.
HostV.com provides also a lot of shared video scripts and I don't think that there are many companies that provide the same features.
