From my HTML Form how can I capture values or properties to use in functions?

Hey mate i am trying to accomplish kind of the same thing but it cant be done in HTML the form can but the submit button will have to be coded with phpo so when i have sorted it out i will beable to reply and help you as much as i can

Ask this question the the JavaScript forum if you need an alert. If you need validation or a foolproof method, you'll need PHP.

How can I do this with php?
I have seen some code snippets of javascript but I'm not understanding how it works. Why can't I just do something like this :
