How about making the rep points button bigger, moving it or making it more obvious.

People tend to forget or not notice it when you help them and then it sounds a bit rude if you actualy ask lol.

Then they don't leave you Rep points. But if you ask for some, it does sound rude, it sounds like all you care about is getting the rep points!!
